Light the whole sky (plus: what I’m working on now!)
“Even after all this time, the sun never says to the earth ‘you owe me.’ Look what happens with a love like that, it lights the whole sky” Hafiz
Feeling gratitude for a beautiful sky peeking through the trees. Inspiration for a new painting is always just outside the front door. Let’s all look up today.

It’s been a hectic few weeks around here. I’ve begun prepping my business for the holidays, my sister is getting married this weekend, and Isaac got very sick about a week ago and we’ve been recovering ever since.
I’ve been so mired down in the details of caring for a sick kiddo that it’s been easy to miss how much moves forward in the little moments of each day.
I’ve been doing print batches to make the holiday rush a little less crazy busy:
I love sending these reminders out to people and families who need them. Love. Trust. Breathe. Be together. It’s still one of my favorite parts of being in business.
We’ve also been making new batches of sticker sets (as wow! all my initial sets found homes… thank you so much). The stickers continue to be a source of fun and conversation in our house, too:
After each month’s photo, we added the sticker to the wall above Isaac’s bed. He loves to touch the stickers and talk to the animals. It’s the sweetest thing.
Here I am prepping mama and baby whale for their journey into the world. Painting animals is still by far my favorite these days. Their gentleness and love feel so healing:
Last but not least, I’ve finally been working on my children’s book project! I’ve been wanting to do this for YEARS, but there was always something else to do first. It’s totally intimidating to begin a huge, meaningful project, isn’t it? Eric helped me break through my nerves about beginning and I wrote the story over the past few weeks. I have nothing visual to share yet, but it’s about time to start sketching the pictures to go with the story. I can’t wait to share more with you soon and begin painting this winter.
In the meantime, I’ve been doing some of the most fun research ever. I’m reading lots and lots of children’s books, which is always fun, but especially here at this sun-lit table:
Have a wonderful week, friends! I’m sending love and color your way.
