Making choices
I’ve spent much of the last few days deep in details – terms and conditions, credit card readers, shipping carriers. As I get closer to offering my art to shops, I’m reminded that everything we know and take for granted was at one point new information.
This is comforting, yes?
Researching something new always sends me a little shiver of nerves. Will I find the best information? How will I know if I’m making choices that will work in my business? Even little decisions can be time-consuming if you let them, so I’ve been working very hard to say okay Elizabeth, you’ve done the research. Just make a decision. The worst that can happen is that you need to make a different choice next time.
And suddenly I breathe easier again. When our fear holds us back in a cycle of perfectionism and research, often the only real answer is to just make a choice and move forward.
So today I am making decisions and moving forward. It’s actually quite liberating.
